Porter Instruments recently changed their popular product, the Porter brown Autoclavable Outer mask – Adult & Paediatric, from a solid grey colour to a clear outer hood.
This has caused some confusion amongst dental staff who are then perceiving it as ‘disposable’ (i.e. Clearview single patient use nasal mask).
The new clear outer is autoclavable and should be used and cared for in the same way as the previous solid grey item.
